Sacrificed

HOW DEEP THE FATHERS LOVE FOR US

"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." John 3:15-17
After preaching to a mother and her 14 year old son, I asked him whether he would like to give His life to Christ and his response was "mum what did I do?". Like this 14 year old, when the gospel is preached to people they usually wonder if they have done anything bad or worse they say " I am not as bad as the other person". What they fail to realize is that "all have sinned" by nature and by action. By nature because the bible says "in sin did my mother conceive me" and by action because the bible says " all have sinned ". The bible says that "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.". Since sin is universal the sacrifice for sins had to be universal! God gave Jesus Christ for all of us! For "He(Jesus)is the propitiation( atonement i.e. the one who has sacrificed Himself) for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world." 1 John 2:2
The story below is about a father who sacrificed his son for the safety of a lot of passengers on a train-whats funny is that the passengers were oblivious as to what had happened and so just continued with their lives. However one woman on that train who was addicted to drugs somehow turned her life around after her trip on that train. And for the father, who painfully lost his only begotten son, seeing that woman's life changed brought about unspeakable joy! The father seems to say " my son's death was not in vain!" Youth the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross will be in vain in your life, if you choose to continue in sin. Please give your life to Christ today.
